INKA JUNGLE LUXURY ITINERARY
Day 01: Cusco - Santa Teresa
The Inca Jungle tour begins with a hotel pick-up in Cusco aboard private transport bound for the town of Ollantaytambo, where we make a brief stop to acclimate and take in the first views of the Sacred Valley. From there, we continue ascending along a scenic route until reaching the impressive Abra Málaga (4,350 meters above sea level), the official starting point of our adventure.
Here, after receiving the necessary gear and a short safety briefing, we begin an exhilarating downhill bike ride from the Andes into the high jungle. Along the route to Huamán Marca – Santa María (1,890 meters above sea level), you’ll witness the dramatic transition of ecosystems—from high-altitude landscapes to a tropical environment filled with stunning views, natural waterfalls, and lush vegetation.
This activity is accessible for most travelers, even those with little mountain biking experience, as it includes safety equipment, support vehicles, and a specialized guide.
After lunch—prepared with fresh local ingredients—we'll take part in a cultural experience at a rural farm, where you'll learn about the traditional process of organic coffee, from harvest to tasting. You'll also gain insight into the ancestral cultivation of coca leaves and other native plants of the region.
In the afternoon, for those seeking more adrenaline, we offer an optional rafting activity on the Vilcanota River—a safe and thrilling experience that connects you with the power of nature. The rafting route features a mix of calm stretches and class III to III+ rapids, lasting about 2 hours over approximately 8 kilometers.
To end the day, we head to Santa Teresa, where a comfortable lodge awaits. Here, you'll enjoy a spectacular view and have time to relax by a campfire—perfect for recharging before the next stage of your journey.
Day 02: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes
Today, after enjoying a breakfast made with local products at our accommodation, we get ready for an exciting activity: zip-lining. This adventure experience takes place very close to our hotel and allows us to glide along cables stretched over the breathtaking jungle landscape, offering unique views of the valley, the river, and the lush vegetation. Guided by professional instructors and with all safety equipment included, you’ll experience an adrenaline rush in an unparalleled natural setting.
You will glide along 3 zipline lines and a hanging bridge, totaling 3 kilometers. All the lines are connected from mountain to mountain.
- The first zipline stretches 450 meters.
- The second line is longer, with a total of 600 meters.
- We then cross a 120-meter-long hanging bridge, where you'll enjoy stunning views of the river, mountains, and lush vegetation.
- After that, get ready for the final zipline, the longest of all, spanning 950 meters.
Once the activity ends, we head by private transport to the Hidroeléctrica station, a key point on the route to Machu Picchu. From there, we board a tourist train for a scenic ride of approximately 45 minutes to the charming town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo.
Upon arrival, we check in to a carefully selected boutique hotel designed to ensure comfort and relaxation. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a gourmet dinner at a local restaurant that blends the best of Andean cuisine with contemporary influences—ending a day full of adventure, breathtaking scenery, and rich flavors.
Day 03: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Today, after an early breakfast at the hotel, we board the CONSETUR tourist bus, which will take us on a scenic 30-minute ride to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Urubamba Canyon, surrounded by mist-covered mountains.
Upon arrival, we enter the Inca sanctuary for a guided tour of approximately 3 hours, led by a professional guide who will share the secrets, history, and architecture of this sacred site. We’ll explore its main sectors, including the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, the Intihuatana, and the agricultural terraces, while taking in the grandeur of this Andean legacy nestled among the mountains.
After the visit, we take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where we’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at one of its charming restaurants, shop for souvenirs, or simply relax by the river.
In the afternoon, we board the exclusive Vistadome train, a panoramic service featuring large windows and onboard entertainment, including a cultural show with traditional dances and a fashion show showcasing garments inspired by Peruvian textiles.
