What is Humantay?
Humantay is a snowy part of the Andes Mountains. On its slopes the Humantay lake was formed, which is turquoise, majestic and impressive.
Where is it located?
To get there you have to walk. It’s located in the district of Mollepata, province of Anta, at 3:30 hours from the city of Cusco within the Vilcabamba mountain range. To get there it’s necessary to take a bus to Soraypampa, where you will start a trek to Humantay Lake.
How high is it?
It has an altitude of 4200 m.a.s.l. and 13779 feet.
What is the weather?
The weather is cold, it’s recommended to wear warm and waterproof clothing, due to the presence of rain and snow.
How difficult is the trek?
The trek from Soraypampa to Humantay has a medium difficulty, it’s recommended to have walking sticks and other implements.
